Parallume

Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

This policy covers Parallume, a game by emglue for Android. It says what data the game collects, why, how long we keep it and how you can have it deleted.

Who we are

Parallume is made by emglue, who is responsible for your data (the "data controller"). For anything about your privacy, write to hello@emglue.com.

On your device

Your progress, settings and the game's cached online data are saved on your phone and are not sent anywhere. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes them.

Ads

[To be written: which ad network the game uses, what it collects and how to opt out.]

Anonymous play statistics

To improve the levels, the game sends anonymous play statistics to our server: which level was started or finished, the number of moves, undos and restarts, the play time, the moves played, where a player failed, how long the game was open and which settings are used, together with the game version and platform.

It contains no account, device or advertising identifiers, no names, no location and no precise times: our server records only the hour it received the data and does not store IP addresses. Because nothing in it identifies you or your device, we cannot find or delete your data afterwards. The data is kept for up to two years.

You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous play data. Nothing is sent while it is off, and statistics not yet sent are deleted when you turn it off.

Online scores and the daily puzzle

Leaderboards and the daily puzzle use an anonymous online account, created the first time you use them. No email, sign-in or personal details are needed. For this our server stores:

We keep this until you delete it. You can turn online scores off in Settings → Online scores; nothing is sent while it is off.

Delete your online data at any time in the game (Settings → Delete online data) or by email. How to delete your Parallume data →

Purchases

If you buy something in the game, Google Play handles the payment under Google's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details; the game only remembers what you have unlocked.

Permissions

The game asks for internet access and the network state (to send the data above when a connection is available) and for vibration (for feedback, which you can turn off in Settings).

Children

Parallume is not directed at children under 13. Its anonymous statistics are the same for every player.

Where data is stored and who sees it

Our server is hosted by Hetzner in the European Union. Hetzner stores the data for us and does not use it for anything else. We do not sell or share your data with anyone. Our server keeps daily backups for 30 days.

Your IP address is necessarily seen when your device connects. Our server uses it only in memory to limit how many requests a device can make, and never writes it to a database or log.

Why we may use it

We keep your online account, nickname and results to provide the leaderboards and the daily puzzle you chose to use (performance of a contract, GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Our server uses your IP address in memory to protect itself from abuse (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)). The anonymous play statistics do not identify you, so they are not personal data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to get a copy of it, or to limit how we use it, and you can object to how we use it. Write to hello@emglue.com; we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Slovenian data protection authority, the Information Commissioner, or to the authority in your own EU country.

Changes

When the game starts using data in a new way, we update this page and the date at the top before the new version is released.
